The pineapple fields of Tagaytay

The previous weekend we had a trip to Batangas here in the Philippines. It was a funny weekend cause we were staying on a water park hotel.

On the way home to Manila we used a shortcut to avoid traffic, and suddenly I realized that we were crossing the pineapple fields of Tagaytay . That was so cool because it was my first time seeing how and where does the pineapples grows, I always believed that they grow in trees, but I discovered finally they don’t. I couldn’t help myself jumping of the car to snap some pictures. The country road was full of vendors with wooden benches selling fresh tropical fruits and veggies. It seemed so unfamiliar to me seeing all these expensive (for us) fruits being laid on the side of the road in batches.
